Florida Oranges

Posted by Andrew on Dec 14, 2008 in Travels

My first fresh florida orange! It was delicious, juicy and I can’t wait for some more!

We did arrive safely to Orlando last night and are now awaiting some sunshine. The WestJet flight was good and only 15 minutes late arriving to Orlando, which was good considering we left Toronto almost 45 minutes late. Our co-pilot informed us the pilot was a lead foot, and we did make up 30 minutes on route.

Canoe Museum and Lift Lock

Posted by Andrew on Nov 19, 2008 in Outdoors, Travels

Yesterday I had to travel to Peterborough, Ontario for a meeting and decided to visit a couple of the local sites. The Peterborough Canoe Museum was my first stop. To be able to get up close and see canoes made from birch bark that have lasted from the 1800’s was incredible. Unfortunately the pictures did not turn out the greatest as the lighting was difficult and no flash photography was allowed. You can view all the photos on my flickr stream. Below is one of the best photos from the day.

After my meeting I found my way to the lift lock, which is part of the Trent Severn waterway. The Lock 21 is the highest hydraulic lift lock in the world.
