About Me

I currently work as a Senior Consulting Engineer for gloPlug, a startup located in Mississauga. I am the Virtualization Expert for all things VMware and the integration into NetApp storage. It’s a good job and I really enjoy all the people I’m working with. I don’t update my technology blog as often as I would like, but if you are interested it’s located at: andrewrivett.com.

I enjoy the outdoors and previously was the organizer for the Hamilton and Area Hiking Meetup. Since moving to Toronto I have handed over the reigns but still make it out for the occasional hike. I spend more time walking in the city and exploring the concrete jungle.

I started this webpage as a way to share information I learn about computers and a space online to store my recipes, but now they have their own website at veggiefrog.ca. This site is now a place for all my great internet finds and a place to document my travels around Ontario and sometimes the world.

About 10 years ago I spent a great deal of time researching my family tree and in the process started the Norfolk Transcription Archive. Since that time, the site has become extremely popular and I have now started a easier to manage transcription website for all the miscellaneous documents people find called UKGenScribe.
